It’s that time of the year when I start thinking about Christmas and other holidays gifts. I always have to plan ahead, because while I do simple things, they always seem to need a lot of time to turn into what I am giving!
The first gifts I prepare are the ones that take the longest, so I thought I’d post several of my favorites!Vinegar is one of the best cleaning solutions on the face of the planet. I like to take mine one better and add Citrus. In a pretty bottle with a gorgeous label, I get more thank yous for this gift than any other…go figure!
Citrus Vinegar Cleaning Solution
- 1 (or more!) Quart Jar with lid
- Peels from Oranges, Lemons, Limes, Grapefruit or any Citrus peel (Really scrub these to make sure they’re clean)
- Other fun additives: Mint, Rosemary, Essential Oils, or even add the mixture to baking soda for a great cleanser substitute.
- Natural Vinegar (Although any vinegar will work)
- Label or Tag
Loosely pack rinds into your jar, about 3/4 full, fill the jar with your vinegar and shake well. Add more vinegar if ANY of the rinds are above the liquid line. Otherwise they will spoil the entire batch before you get to clean a thing. Shake daily and let infuse for 2-6 weeks, depending on how strong you want it to smell!
Air Fresheners (Great for Cars), are a snap.
After you cut out the felt, and string it for your car, then place about 3-4 drops of Essential Oil on the felt. Instant happiness, and it makes your car (or any small, enclosed place) a happier, healthier place to be!
I love giving homemade Vanilla, and saving some for myself!
Or try some (I call it Phoenician Robbers Oil, but we all know what I’m talking about!) It’s a great massage oil to keep on hand, and oh it smells wonderful too! Perfect timing for Thanksgiving, Christmas or any other holiday!
